Student Prompt: Write a structured and well-developed essay. Include a thesis statement, at least three main points supported by text details, and a conclusion.
1. Ch’idzigyaak is abandoned by her tribe and family members. Describe whether it is easier or more difficult for Ch’idzigyaak to survive after her family members leave her. What emotion does she associate her family with? Is Sa’ more resilient because she doesn’t have a surviving family?
2. Consider the implications of aging in the text. Why is old age considered dangerous to the tribe? What do the tribe members associate old age with? How does the resilience of the women change stereotypical views on age in the tribe? What can be learned from the story of Two Old Women?
